Student Services at University of Wroclaw

Student services and contacts

The International Relations Office is intended to help students to find their way around the University and the city. It explains the rules and regulations concerning international students and provides an introduction to the academic programs and the social and cultural life of Wrocaw.

Accommodation

The University provides accommodation for foreign students. There are two dormitories located in the centre of the city:

Accommodation doesn't include catering. The dormitory is divided into two-bedroom modules with kitchen and bathroom facilities. Dishes, cutlery, pots etc. are not providedbut can be purchased locally. Every three weeks the provided bed linen is changed. Each room has access to the Internet. The communal facilities include: communal TV room, club, two study rooms, and a launderette.

Monthly rent about: 600 PLN (150 EUR) for a single room; 350 PLN (85 EUR) for a double room.

A deposit (one monthly rent) must be paid on arrival and will be returned on check-out.


Residence Permit

Students from outside the EU coming to Poland for studies should apply for a Polish visa in the Polish Embassy/Consulate in their home country. If the visa expires before the end of the stay in Poland students have to apply for a Temporary Residence Card. This must be done 45 days prior to expiration of the visa. To apply for the Card students should contact the Provincial Office at the following address:

Health and Insurance

Poland does not guarantees medical care for international students during their stay at Wrocaw University. The candidates admitted to the University should purchase health insurance in their own country.

In all cases students are advised to purchase health insurance in their home country before coming to Poland.


Polish Language Courses

International Students are welcome to participate in a Polish language course. For beginners a two-week intensive course is proposed. For intermediate and advanced speakers there are various levels and after writing a test students can follow the most suitable schedule of classes, including elementary level.
